Los Angeles, November 14, 2006 The Prem Rawat Foundation made a significant contribution to Oxfam America to aid people in need of water as a result of the Middle East crisis.

During the recent conflict, water pipes, generators, pumps, and electrical networks were destroyed or severely damaged in the conflict, preventing people from receiving clean water.

Oxfam is working in conjunction with local organizations like TPRF to bring clean drinking water, install water tanks, rehabilitate sanitation facilities, and promote hygiene through the distribution of hygiene kits in villages.

Oxfam is delivering 1.5 million liters (390,000 gallons) of fresh drinking water every day—enough to provide the basic daily needs for 50,000 people.

Raymond Offenheiser, president of Oxfam America, reported that Oxfam is installing thousands of water tanks to displaced people who are returning to villages in Lebanon that had little remaining infrastructure. While the crisis continues in northern Israel, Oxfam is helping protect public health by funding mobile medical teams, supplying clean water, and funding equipment.

The Foundation’s efforts have brought relief and food aid to victims of every major disaster around the world. The Foundation recently inaugurated Food for People, a 10,000-square-foot permanent facility in a tribal area of northeastern India, where 45,000 free hot meals are served each month to villagers. This project is one of many spearheaded by Prem Rawat and his Foundation in an effort to bring basic necessities such as food, water, and adequate medical care to those in need everywhere.
